Leaving the site open to the existing farmland was key in this Somerset farmhouse garden re-design

An important part of this garden design was to bring the borrowed landscape and the soft planting around the quite imposing stone farmhouse together, whilst not obscuring the views from the house. The clients required an area of levelled lawn for their grandchildren to play and an extended patio area for entertaining. We also located a summer house to enjoy the views and the new garden design from an alternative aspect. This soft planting scheme featured roses and nepeta, and grasses were used for movement and winter interest. (Photos by Lucy McNulty)
